One man was killed and four others injured yesterday afternoon when their light delivery vehicle overturned on the R59, approximately 10km outside of Parys.
According to Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24, paramedics arrived on the scene to find various services already in attendance.
Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the body of a man lying on the side of the road. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.
Four other men were found on the scene. Assessments showed that the injuries ranged from moderate to serious.
Paramedics treated the patients and provided the seriously injured with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to Parys General Hospital for urgent treatment.
The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
