Three arrested for business robbery in Zamdela

The suspects will appear in court today (Friday 27-10-2017)

SASOLBURG. – Three suspects have been arrested for business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms in Zamdela.  This followed after three unknown men, armed with firearms, allegedly stormed into a tuck shop in Amelia, Zamdela, on Tuesday 24 October 2017 at about 19:00.

The men switched off the lights, pointed firearms at the owner of the shop and robbed cash, cellphones, cigarettes and various groceries.
Detective Constable Moalosi was on standby and after receiving the complaint of business robbery, he quickly attended the scene and followed up on the information available. The detective mobilized back up from the Zamdela Police Station and they went to search for the suspects.
The trail led to a house in Amelia. When the Police arrived at the premises they requested entry but the occupants declined. They forcefully entered the premises and found three males aged 25 and 26. The men were in possession of two firearms that were allegedly used during the commission of the crime, and all properties that was robbed from the tuck shop.
The three suspects are expected to appear in the Sasolburg Court today – Friday 27 October 2017.
