A Good Samaritan
Random acts of kindness are always appreciated. This week Mark Pearson, Area Armed Response Manager for Fidelity ADT Vaal, gets a thumbs-up for caring about his neighbours and his community
On Wednesday morning Mark received a call from his next door neighbour advising him of a suspicious black Opel REG PXP734GP parked outside his premises. When he arrived to investigate, the car had left but the neighbour across the road had managed to take a photo of the vehicle which had 3 suspects inside, one of which had a firearm.
“When I could not find anything suspicious in the street, I started to inspect some of the premises in the road and found one of our neighbours had had their bedroom window broken into,” explains Mark.
It turns out the suspects had gained access via the bedroom and the garage. As this neighbour was not a Fidelity ADT client Mark took it upon himself to go door-to-door knocking to find out if someone closeby had any contact details for that particular homeowner.
Mark was happy to guard the premis until a very appreciative homeowner came home. He could then advise her who to contact and where to get her window repaired.
This sense of community is always appreciated and also a great way of protecting your neighbourhood. Fidelity ADT encourage all residents to stay alert and if they notice anything suspicious to report it immediately.
