President Hyper Stores made a name for itself with its motto and pursuit to remain SA’s cheapest supermarket – but this group, with branches in Vanderbijlpark, Fochville and Krugersdorp, is also known for giving back generously to the communities in which it operates.

The eighth President Hyper golf day, that took place on Tuesday September 5, was once again a “giving back” opportunity.

The prestigious spring event took place at the Krugersdorp golf course. The golfers and sponsors were hosted to a gala dinner in the President Hyper Krugersdorp store. The focus of the day was maximum benefit to charity – this is the aim every year. Many institutions in the Vaal Triangle, Krugersdorp and Fochville received donations of R20 000 each.

“We challenge ourselves to collect as much money as possible to give, from our heart, to the less fortunate to make life a bit better for our fellow citizens,” said President Hyper CEO Basil Synodinos.

Indeed this was the case for the eighth golf day. More than half a million Rand was distributed to charities in President Hyper’s catchment areas.

“It is our civic duty to do what we can do to help. It is a privilege to be able to make a small difference in our beautiful South Africa.”

The ethos portrayed was well evident with the massive turnout of all role players, who gave joyously of their time and money.

“This wonderful event has endured for eight years. Here’s to the next eight!” said Basil.
