Three River man assaulted during house robbery

Police Spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda reports that a man had to be taken to hospital following a robbery at his home in Three Rivers East.

VEREENIGING. – Police Spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda reports that a man had to be taken to hospital following a robbery at his home in Three Rivers East.

“The victim was at home when he was attacked by four African males who were all carrying firearms. The culprits forced the man’s front door open and ordered him to lie on the ground. They subsequently tied his hands and started assaulting him.
“The men further took the victim to his bedroom and seized some of his property including a cellphone, jewellery and a Ford Ranger with registration number ZCD 933 GP. ”

Funda states that the total amount of the property that was stolen amounts to R471 000. ” The suspects are in their early thirties and speak fluent Afrikaans. No shots were fired at the scene. A case of house robbery is being investigated and anyone with information regarding the robbery can call the Vereeniging police on 016450 2263/4 or crime stop on 0800 10111.”
