Two people were killed when an Opel Corsa collided with a truck on the N12 near Potchefstroom in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, March 18, 2017). The car collided with the truck about 4km from Potchefstroom at around 5.30am, ER24 spokeswoman Annine Dormehl said.
“It is believed that the collision took place as the truck crossed the N12 to get to a petrol station. At the time of their arrival there was nothing more that ER24 paramedics could do for the patients. One male and one female were declared dead on the scene.”
The jaws-of-life had to be used by the local fire department to remove the victims from the car. Local authorities were investigating the collision, Dormehl said. The names of the deceased have not yet been released.
