Imagine a South Africa of tomorrow, today

“I believe South Africans deserve a leader who will turn South Africa into the utopia it rightfully is. I know I am more than able to help our people develop a South Africa of tomorrow, today."

VEREENIGING. – Vaalians will be proud to hear that Sydney Madibo, who was second runner-up in the fourth season of SABC1’s One Day Leader, will be back again on our screens to claim the title once more.

The show will once again see six young people showcase their leadership skills by tackling socio-economic and political issues, to compete for the title.
“Becoming SA’s One Day Leader has been a dream that I’ve kept in my heart since the season when Ndumiso Hadebe sparked in me a flame that has created the fire that burns now.”
Madibo says it is time for him to use the advice he always offers to others. “I always go to schools and tell people to do something until they achieve the outcomes they envisage. I guess entering again for One Day Leader is me learning to practice what I preach. It is also to send a message to young people around the Vaal that you don’t have to stop chasing a dream just because you got close to it. You always have to be in pursuit to be the best you can. When you fail, you get up and try harder than before.
This season, Madibo plans to campaign more effectively.
“My focus is on making the best of the One Day Leader experience by giving 110%. The plan is to involve local businesses, local churches, local schools including the community at large and really make them realise that my success here is an achievement for all. It targets all spaces so it can be guaranteed that we make people aware that they need to vote. This is central to the strategy.”
Madibo states that being SA’s One Day Leader means that he can continue doing the work he already does within communities. “I want to become the voice South Africa needs to hear to solve it’s problems, through teaching and building our communities every single day of my life.
“Winning this year will help me reach a greater audience of people in need of a young leader.
“I believe South Africans deserve a leader who will turn South Africa into the utopia it rightfully is. I know I am more than able to help our people develop a South Africa of tomorrow, today.
“The people of the Vaal should vote as much as they can bey sending “Leader 4” to 32672. An SMS costs them R1.50 and they can catch One Day Leader every Monday at 16:30 on SABC1”
