Gruesome matric suicide?

Rumour has it that a learner who allegedly failed his matric exam committed suicide by throwing himself in front of an oncoming train.

SEBOKENG. – Rumour has it that a learner who allegedly failed his matric exam committed suicide by throwing himself in front of an oncoming train.

The incident happened a few hours after the matric results were made public last week. He was discovered near Residensia on January 5 at around 06:30.

It is believed that as the train was approaching, he came out of the long grass and laid down in the middle of the railway line facing the oncoming train covering his face with the tracksuit he was wearing. Police spokesperson Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said, “The train driver unsuccessfully tried to sound a warning. The young man was cut in half, right from the upper hip. He was declared dead by paramedics.” Police have opened an inquest case.

The young man was wearing blue jeans, a grey T-shirt, a grey and blue tracksuit top with white Adidas takkies. He is estimated to be between the age of 18 and 20. The family of any missing boy is asked to go to the Sebokeng morgue to identify the body.

The case number is with the Evaton Police Station. Police also appeal to members of the public to assist in the matter.
