Press Release by SANCO Fezile Dabi Region:
The South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) in Fezile Dabi Region would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Free State matric class of 2016 for performing remarkably well in their final examinations and for taking the first spot in the country with a 93.2% overall pass rate and with our Fezile Dabi district leading as the third perfoming district in the country with a pass rate of 91% .
To the teachers, parents and School Governing bodies we compliment you for working unflagging towards making that our learners are able to produce results of this magnitude . Our learners displayed determination and courage to reflect respect for their time spent behind the desk.
We salute the Free State Provincial Department of Education under the leadership of the Honourable MEC Tate Makgoe and the District Director Mr Vusi Chuta for keeping their commitment to ensuring that the province retains the number 1 spot.. Indeed the current results exceed our expectations.
We applaud the Free State Provincial Government led by the Honourable Premier Ace Magashule for investing much resources and time towards improving our basic education system in the province .
We call the department to Keep doing good and improve in areas where there is a need, in particular areas where we are continuously receiving poor results and other poor performing schools .
We further call all municipalities within our district and private sector to avail financial assistance with immediate effect that will assist students who applied to tertiary institutions with registration fees and bursaries .
We say forward to the much anticipated year of 2017 and may the class of 2016 fill the year with glamour and insight for better things to come. Congratulations Class of 2016!
