The Mini SUV was allegedly hijacked in Vanderbijlpark on Wednesday night. It is said that the victim was about to drive into her yard in Vanderbijlpark when a male dragged her out of the car and kissed her before he drove off.
It is said the victim (female) opened her yard gate preparatory to driving in when the suspect grabbed her by the neck and dragged her out of the car. Sergeant Gertrude Makhale confirms that a case of car-hijacking was opened by the Vanderbijlpark Police.
The victim seems to have known the suspect due to the fact that the victim asked the suspect to talk before he drove off. However, the suspect had hidden his face by wearing a balaclava,” said Makhale.
The car was in a dire state when it was found. There was no-one in the car and it was broken from all sides and the airbag was out. Makhale said it was not clear whether the suspect was spinning the car or whether it had simply been in an accident.
