Four killed, one critical in N1 Kroonvaal crash
ER24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak confirms that four people were killed and one person sustained critical injuries when two vehicles collided head on with each other on the N1 approximately 3km before the Kroonvaal Toll Plaza.The incident happened on Sunday.
“At approximately 1.30pm paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the one vehicle standing in the middle of the highway. The other vehicle was found several meters off the road in a nearby veld.”
Vermaak states that one person was found with fatal injuries in the vehicle standing in the veld. “Sadly, there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene. A critically injured occupant from the same vehicle was rushed to Parys Hospital by another private service.”
Vermaak further explains that three men were found with fatal injuries in the vehicle standing on the highway.
“There was nothing that paramedics could do for them and they were declared dead on the scene. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene and will investigate.” Vermaak concludes.
