The Paintball Super Cup at Emerald Resort & Casino
Everyone's invited to high intensity sport at the Emerald this week!
Adventure is stepped up a notch over a period of four days this week, when Emerald Resort & Casino will host the annual Paintball Super Cup, for the first time!
“We are excited to be hosting this event from the 8th to the 11th of December which promises to be filled to the brim with fast paced action, both for our participants and our spectators,” says Emerald Resort & Casino’s Marketing Executive Tanuja Gangabishun. “We believe that this event is a great way to kick start the holiday season and is just one of our exciting events and activities happening over a jam packed festive season.”
Paintball, sometimes also termed Speedball, is an incredibly popular game played on an indoor or outdoor arena. The playing field is composed of various bunkers and obstacles of equal number on each side of the field for each competing team.
With over 50 teams already registered that competed during the last season in both the 3-man and 5-man divisions around South Africa, there will be an additional two divisions available for new players at this year’s Paintball Super Cup 2016.
“This year’s Cup introduces a Beginners Division and an Under 19 Division,” Tanuja explains. “Other exciting news is that we are honoured to have international pro player, Greg Siewers here on the 8th December from his team Houston Heat. Greg will be hosting a clinic for players who wish to improve and fine-tune their skills before they get on to the field.”
To register yourself as a player visit www.pbresultsonline.com, click on ‘register’ in the top right hand corner and create your player profile. Once you have a player profile the team owner/captain can create a new team under that profile.
A team consists of a minimum of 3 players with a maximum of 5 players that can be rotated between points or games. A schedule detailing the competing teams and times of play will be released a week prior to the event, along with the field layout.
