Massive amount of collectables

VANDERBIJLPARK. - If programmes like Storage Wars, Auction Hunters, Classic Cars & Bikes and American Pickers get your heart racing, Old Johannesburg Warehouse Auctioneers’ once-in-a-lifetime auction is not to be missed! The private collection of Siggi Duvel of the Sylviavale Heritage Museum in Vanderbijlpark is going under the hammer over a three-day auction from October 28 - 30.

Siggi has been collecting automobilia, vintage signs, petrol pumps, vintage cars, tractors, steam locomotives, ox wagons, tools, car parts, motorcycles, vintage radios, telephones, bicycles, kitchenalia and toys his whole life.
His love of collecting implored him to start the Sylviavale Heritage Museum. He has steadily built it into a fascinating and eclectic small town of treasures that wants to be explored.
Due to the sheer size and diversity, the 1 000-lot collection, representing over 3 500 items, has been broken up into three days. Friday, October 28 is devoted to all things Toy – almost 200 of collectable toy cars, trains, tricycles, steam engines, boats, miniature sewing machines, dolls and so much more will get any toy collector excited – the session starts at 15:00 and includes Dinky Toys, Corgi, Hornby, Ertl, Matchbox, Lesney, Wilesco, Tonka and many others.
The Saturday, October 29 session starts at 10:00 and promises to have something for everyone: automobilia is a very broad term and boy does it deliver! Vintage advertising signs and petrol pumps, oil cans, tools, classic cars, motorcycles, steam engines, farm implements, bicycles, parts as well as the contents of a blacksmith’s workshop. BP, Texaco, Shell, Ford, Caltex, Mobil, Michelin, AA and John Deere are only a few of the fantastic brands represented. A 1948 Chevy Fleetliner, a 1951 Riley RMB, a 1925 Ford Model T pick up, no less than three Model T project cars, a 1934 Armstrong Siddeley Limousine, and two rare 1920s Model T racers are a few among a unique selection of wonderful classic cars. For the bike collectors there are 9 highly sought-after classic bikes, including two BSA’s and a beautiful 1936 Frances-Barnett to name one.
Sunday, October 30 brings an eclectic mix of ox wagons, horse carts, wood working tools, telephone booths, vintage fridges, kitchenalia, vintage radios, telephones, typewriters, photographic and film items, clocks, furniture, Royal memorabilia, tins, novelty items – everything but the kitchen sink.
This session starting at 10:00 will keep bidders enthralled!
Make this into a fun-filled family weekend – food stalls, children’s play area, farm animals and more, right at the auction venue, is bound to keep everyone entertained.
Viewing for the auction takes place on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 October from 08:00 to 17:00 and 08:00 to 10:00 on auction days.
