VANDERBIJLPARK. – Emmanuel Private School is celebrating its 20th birthday this year. A celebration weekend took place from Friday 16 September to Sunday 18 September.
Celebrations included a tea with the alumni and staff on Friday. A family picnic was held on the Saturday morning, as well as a reunion gala dinner on Saturday evening. On Sunday morning, a celebration service took place in the school hall. The service was led by Pastor Ricky da Silva, the first graduate at Emmanuel Private School. Pastor da Silva holds his Masters in Practical Theology and is a campus pastor at Urban Edge Church in Cape Town.
Pastor Mark Haupt and his wife Virginia, who were instrumental in founding Emmanuel Private School in 1996, also attended the festivities. They represented Accelerated Education Enterprises, an international education company to which Emmanuel Private School is affiliated. Pastor and Mrs. Haupt presented the school with a trophy to commemorate 20 years of affiliation to the organisation.
Past graduates and teachers travelled from all parts of South Africa, as well as from England to join in the celebrations. They shared some of their fond memories of how God was faithful to them in the early years of the school.
Building a school like Emmanuel Private School has clearly been a labour of love and involved various church and educational leaders, as well as parents.
Today the school stands as a monument of God’s faithfulness and provision. The school continues to provide the local community with an international standard of education, as well as spiritual training of learners.
