ER24 paramedics, along with various other services, arrived on the scene and found the vehicle lying on the side of the road. It was evident that the vehicle had rolled multiple times.
Two patients, a man and woman, were found lying a few feet away from the vehicle. It is believed that both occupants had been ejected when the vehicle rolled.
Paramedics assessed both patients and found that both patients had sustained numerous injuries, leaving them in a serious condition.
The patients were treated for their injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions in an effort to stabilize their vital signs.
Once treated, the man was airlifted by a medical helicopter to Baragwanath Hospital while the woman was transported by ER24 ambulance to Carletonville Hospital.
The cause of the collision will be investigated by local authorities.
