Two close friends were minding their own business when they unexpectedly got caught up in an incident of violence on Saturday morning. Pogiso Michael Mogapi and Pule Kgotleng left the tavern they were visiting in Khutsong Ext. 3 at around 03:50. On their way home, five men and four women were walking behind them. Suddenly, the group overtookthem and Pogiso and Pule and the two friends noticed that they were in the process of robbing someone a few metres away from them. Realising that the pair had witnessed the incident, the suspects decided to go back and turn their attention to Pogiso and Pule. They demanded their cell phones and money.
When Pogiso and Pule refused to co- operate, the unknown men took out their knives and stabbed them. While Pogiso was stabbed in the forehead, shoulder and back and Pule was stabbed in his head, both managed to flee with their cell phones. They were later transported to the hospital for treatment. Police have confirmed that a case has been opened and is currently being investigated.
