Protestors have made it clear that though things have been calm in Midvaal thus far today, they intend to continue their protest today after learners are done at school, picking up where they had left off last night.

Police called upon the CPF members for help last night after residents of Sicelo, cut down trees near the bridge going over the R59, blocking the LJ Malia road into Sicelo. This started a craze in messages being sent to residents and drivers, warning them of the chaos that had erupted.

Thus 10 protestors had been arrested and 6 have been all suspended from the council, saying that their behaviour is bringing the council into disrepute.

According to their employer, they are being charged with, participating in an illegal strike/protest, participating in public violence and disrupting traffic and damage to public property

Vereeniging court has dismissed the cases of six while the other four are only to appear in the court August 14, 2016.
