SEBOKENG. – Zone 11 residents lost one of their own last week when a couple’s argument ended in a ‘murder-suicide.’ The couple’s secrets went viral on social media. People with their own opinions vented on the couple’s situation, on what had happened, and on how they had lived. The couple got married in 2011.

The deceased’s (woman’s) father who identified himself only as Mahlatsi, says he is still devastated by the situation and the loss of his daughter in that manner: “She was a vibrant person. She loved to see people happy and was always smiling. She was a person of her word, a go-getter. I will miss her so much and cannot handle the pain and disappointment of this,” said the father the day after the funeral when he was interviewed by Sedibeng Ster.

Sedibeng Ster managed to attend the funeral of Puleng, who was buried on Friday. The two families however seem to have locked horns and distanced themselves from one another. The husband and wife were buried separately.
Sedibeng Ster tried in vain to reach the husband’s family. Although separated by love, blame and burial, their families are irrevocably connected by the two-year-old child of the deceased couple. It is alleged that the husband committed suicide by throwing himself off a crane and plunging 40 metres to his death after pumping two bullets into his wife, Puleng Mnisi, at a local mining company where they both used to work. The couple were apparently heading for a divorce.
