Three men were left seriously injured this afternoon after two bakkies collided at the N1/59 split in Sasolburg.

ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene and found one bakkie in the middle of the road while the other had come to a stop against the roadside barrier. Both vehicles had sustained a large amount of damage in the collision.

On inspection, paramedics found that two men from the first vehicle and one man from the second vehicle had all been injured in the collision. Assessments showed that all three men had sustained serious injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, all three patients were transported to Mediclinic Emfuleni for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
