A woman suspected of peddling the drug nyaope was pounced upon this morning around 07h30 after being monitored for some time. Information received was that the woman in her mid-twenties was selling nyaope to the youth in the area from her home in Actonville.
When paying the suspect a surprise visit this morning at her home in Mamkhele street, the EMPD Public Order Policing Unit members found her in possession of eleven packets of dagga valued at approximately R300. No nyaope was found.
The woman, who is allegedly an employee of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, was charged with possession of dagga and on suspicion of dealing at Wattville police station. She is expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
