Girlfriend beaten to death with hammers

“I wanted to make him pay, but I didn’t have an idea what to do to him if I met him. Still my sister is dead and that would not bring her back her,”

EVATON. – Mabatho Emily Makhetha (31) was allegedly killed by the love of her life who is also the father of her three children recently.

The so-called jealous boyfriend is said to have been a great son-in-law, according the Makhetha family, though he had not yet paid ‘lobola’ for the deceased. The death of Makhetha came as a shock, devastating both her family and the residents of Evaton.
Makhetha was allegedly beaten to death with two hammers by the suspect following an argument between the couple. Pule Makhetha, brother to the deceased, says that when he heard about his sister’s death he wanted revenge and he wanted to make the perpetrator feel the pain he had inflicted on the family and the community.
“I wanted to make him pay, but I didn’t have an idea what to do to him if I met him. Still my sister is dead and that would not bring her back her,” says Pule.
The funeral of Makhetha was held at the Zone 3 stadium on Saturday where family and friends gathered to pay their last respects. Pule says the suspect appeared in the Vereeniging Magistrates Court on a charge of murder and was denied bail on his first appearance.
“He will again appear on February 19 of 2016 when the community are up in support to seek justice. He must rot in jail,” says Pule. Mourners said they are in full support of the family.
