A man died and a two-year-old child sustained critical injuries in a collision on the R59 D F Malan Drive intersection in Sasolburg.
The child and man were ejected out of the vehicle they were in during a collision with a truck. ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found the child and man several metres away from the vehicle they were travelling in.
Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for the man. He was declared dead. On assessment of the child it was found that she had sustained critical injuries. She was treated and airlifted to hospital by ER24. A woman travelling in the same vehicle sustained moderate injuries. She was treated and transported to hospital by ambulance. The exact cause of the collision is unknown.
Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
