Following a barbaric criminal act where a family home was set alight, resulting in the family being rendered destitute and without adequate shelter, Democratic Alliance Constituency Head for Soweto East, Tsepo Mhlongo MP, and Councillor Moipone Rakosa, fulfilled their commitment to the Mosoue Family of Ward 31.

Mhlongo and Rakosa were joined by DA activists at the family’s home in Orlando East to find that the family home was absolutely gutted by the fire and practically uninhabitable.

They immediately rolled up their sleeves, put on their overalls and DA t-shirts and got down to the business of assisting the family in returning the house to a livable condition.

Further to the work performed on the house itself, they donated clothes and groceries as a means to assist the family in making ends meet. Mhlongo has called for the police to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring those responsible to book. Such criminal elements cannot be allowed to terrorise law abiding citizens of this country.

The DA has long held that is the only party that has the daily lives and struggles of ordinary hardworking South African’s at heart. We will thus continue wherever the need may arise to assist those who require it most.
