Sports day fun at Eureka

VEREENIGING.- Earlier this month, some 400 children from 12 schools from across South Africa participated in the Eureka Specialty School’s 24th annual Special Sports Day in Vereeniging.

The North-West University (NWU) Vaal and the Vaal Triangle community joined forces to make the sport day a success. This day offered learners who depend on high-level support the opportunity to participate in sports activities in a fun way.
This year was the second time that the NWU Vaal participated in the sports day. NWU’s participation was a tribute to the legacy of the late Prof. Kobus Lombard, who initiated this cooperation agreement in 2018. Activities that took place during the day included walking with assistance (50 m, 80 m and 100 m), crawling, a wheelchair derby, goal kick and goal shooting.
