Hartklop festival beats for a good a cause

The two day event which started on September 6 boasted a buffet of fun-filled activities for kids as well as adults. De Bruin called it a family weekend.

VEREENIGING – Laerskool Vryheidsmonument held a successful Hartklop 2024 festival recently. The event is held every second year and is a big fundraiser for the school.

Speaking to Ster North, the school’s headmaster Pieter de Bruin highlighted the importance of the event, adding that it helps raise funds for various projects geared towards assisting underprivileged kids and parents at his school.

“The money raised through the event will help with our grocery donations, housing and clothes for the needy kids in our school. The other money will be used to revamp our premises.

The two day event which started on September 6 boasted a buffet of fun-filled activities for kids as well as adults. De Bruin called it a family weekend.

“We have a lot of local people supporting this event but we have also had people from outside the region who had an interest after learning about the event through the different platforms we used to advertise.”

The weekend was fun-filled with children playing different sporting activities and going on rides. There were also various stalls selling different products including food, snacks and refreshments. Attendees also got to enjoy a music concert that made it a weekend to remember.
