PICS: Midvaal acquires state of the art cherry pickers

“This R3m investment and addition to our municipal fleet reaffirms our commitment to deliver excellent services across all areas of our municipality.”

MIDVAAL-. Yesterday (September 5) marked a momentous occasion for the Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) as they welcomed two state-of-the-art aerial platform cherry pickers, acquired at a cost of over R3m.

In a statement, MLM said one of the advanced cherry pickers will be deployed at the Parks Section to support tree-cutting operations.

“This proactive measure will ensure that trees do not obstruct roadways or pose a risk to properties, thereby enhancing safety and convenience for our residents. The procurement of this cherry picker will also assist in keeping our areas neat and in pristine, appealing condition.”

MLM said the second cherry picker will be utilised by the Electrical Services Section to expedite the repair of streetlights, ensuring that their areas remain well-lit and secure.

With this new addition, MLM aims to address the backlog in streetlight maintenance, significantly improving service delivery.
