Victims follow-up and door to door campaign

The reason for the visit was also to check if the victims still need further assistance from police or the social worker.

SEDIBENG- The Vaal Marina Social Crime Prevention Coordinator together with Agape Lerato Community Services’ Social Worker recently visited domestic violence victims to check how they are coping after the abuse cases they had opened.

The reason for the visit was also to check if the victims still need further assistance from police or the social worker.

Amongst the topics discussed were:

  • Domestic Violence
  • Sexual Offences and
  • Drugs and alcohol usage

“The campaign continued by educating other community members through door-to-door about the above topics. The campaign was a success because the community were able to ask questions and to share ideas on how they think we can assist to prevent domestic violence, substance abuse and liquor control.
