ELFA teams receive outstanding prizes

"I can now sleep in peace knowing that all the teams have received their prizes for 2022/23."

SEBOKENG. – The Emfuleni Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Development League teams have finally received their outstanding prizes for the 2022/2023 season.

The Prize Giving ceremony was held at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex in Zone 14, Sebokeng on Monday.

Emfuleni Local Football (ELFA) Chairman Jabu Mgcina, along with ELFA Treasurer Sam Mabula, were among the executive members who attended the occasion. Winners from all development league divisions—Boitshepiville, Sebokeng, and Evaton—were presented with their awards.

The overall winners from various divisions included Vaal Octopus Development FC, who received prizes in both the U/11 and U/17 categories, including medals, soccer kits, and trophies. Vaal Gardens Soccer Academy was recognised for their achievements as the U/13 and U/15 champions for the 2022/2023 soccer season.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, ELFA Head of Development, Master Zondo, who also serves as Deputy Chairman, expressed relief that the teams had finally received their long-awaited prizes. He acknowledged the pressure he faced from teams inquiring about the distribution timeline, this comes after a prolonged delay that led to some teams to considering to giving up.

“I can now sleep in peace knowing that all the teams have received their prizes for 2022/23. I want to thank all my executive members for their support in ensuring the teams receive what was owed to them,” said Zondo who also extended gratitude to their hardworking league administrator for consistently ensuring that leagues commenced on schedule.
