Sebokeng family robbed and kidnapped

SEBOKENG. –  A case of house robbery and kidnapping is being investigated by the Sebokeng Police after a family home was robbed and its occupants kidnapped in Zone 10, Sebokeng over the weekend.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that community members saw the family’s vehicle being driven out of the yard by unknown men with the family members seen covered with blankets as they were escorted in their vehicle by the men.

“There was an additional vehicle which cannot be identified and it drove off to an unknown location together with the victim’s vehicle. The police were later informed about the incident and they responded swiftly to the scene,” explained Mokhachane.

She further added that on arrival at the victim’s house, the police found that it was ransacked and there were blood stains on the floor. The suspects were later located driving the stolen vehicle and while the police searched them, one of them was found with a wallet that was decorated with a police batch.

The victims were badly assaulted and hospitalised, while the suspects were arrested and will soon appear at the Sebokeng Magistrate’s court.

The value of the stolen items in the house is unknown.

The police urge community members to report any crimes in their respective communities and to participate in various structures of the CPF.
