Moloto is a woman with “amazing abilities”

"We are all born with a purpose and this should be nurtured."

SEBOKENG.-  ‘A woman with Amazing Abilities’ is the term that Mapule Moloto (39) uses to describe herself.

This amazing woman was born with Cerebral Palsy but refused to be the victim of “Argh shame” within her community. She worked hard to defy the odds stacked against her to become one of the most powerful women in the community.

Moloto inspires many women, young and old, in particular those who were born with “amazing abilities” and shows them that anything is possible.

In an exclusive interview with Sedibeng Ster, this award-winning motivational speaker reflects on her journey, upbringing, and challenges she faced at a young age but conquered.

Last week, Sedibeng Ster bumped into Moloto at the Fashion Exhibition held at the Sharpeville Exhibition Centre where she was one of the speakers on the day sharing her challenges and achievements with the audience. She was excited to also share her life story with Sedibeng Ster on how she managed to climb up the ladder to become the person she is today.

Her book “Amazing Abilities” is about her life story, and the challenges she experienced growing up with Cerebral Palsy, an “amazing disability” as she called it. This inspired her to write the book to show others that anything is possible regardless of your circumstances.

The outspoken Motolo is loved by many people, young and old, because of her dedication and passion for what she does.

She told Sedibeng Ster that she discovered her potential when she started volunteering at local radio stations for four to five years. This is where she built her name and brand with many radio listers inspired by the life story she shared with them.

She would organise events for people with “amazing abilities” to shed light on different “amazing abilities” there are. She would and still goes to the different companies, businesses, and shops to ask for donations to empower those with “amazing abilities”.

Moloto became an “iron lady of Vaal” challenging different difficult issues, especially those affecting the people with “amazing abilities”. She has become a “self-appointed” spokesperson for those who were born with “amazing disabilities”.

“I experienced various challenges growing up as a person with “amazing abilities. I therefore wanted to help the generations after me to make it easier. I’m doing something I love, so I don’t see challenges in doing it. I’m planning to write my second book and I have other things up my sleeves that I’m working on.

“My words of encouragement for those living with “amazing abilities” is for them not to give up. We are all born with a purpose and this should be nurtured. People with “amazing abilities” need love and support,” she said.

No doubt, there is so much that the world can learn from Moloto for her hard work and dedication despite being born with Cerebral Palsy. She revealed to Sedibeng Ster that going to the gym was one good decision she made for herself realising that she started to lose her balance often.

In conclusion, Moloto said that with her having “amazing abilities”, her health will always come first.
