House of Sarah brings fashion to the township

Motivational speakers shared their success with the young models on how to overcome their challenges.

SHARPEVILLE.- It was fashion galore when the House of Sarah Fashion House hosted its Fashion Show and Exhibition at Sharpeville Exhibition Centre on Saturday.

This was the first fashion show of its kind to be held in Emfuleni with an effort to acknowledge black excellence and to allow the up-and-coming models to market their work and showcase their talent.

The community of Vuka in Sharpeville came in numbers to support the event. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Sarah Notsi from House of Sarah Fashion House hailed this fashion expo as a great success with young and old displaying their brands.

The models from all over Sedibeng came from as far as Heidelberg, Sasolburg, and Meyerton.

“This will be a platform for youth to work collectively to uplift and empower the talent we have in the Vaal. We have so much talent around Vaal that needs exposure and it will also help the growth of our local economy. Vaal is the most beautiful tourist destination in Gauteng with our beautiful Vaal River. For the past 23 years House of Sara has been empowering young people in Vaal and some of them today own their brands,” she told Sedibeng Ster.

Motivational speakers shared their success with the young models on how to overcome their challenges. Mapule Moloto was one of the speakers who gave wise advisees to the young designers.

Mbali Mbele, was the youngest designer sharing the stage with some experienced models on the day. She couldn’t hold back her tears when she related how she started being a designer after being bullied at school.
