Boy survives after being stabbed in the heart and lung

VANDERBIJLPARK.- A Grade 11 student from HS Transvalia is currently recovering in hospital after he was stabbed several times by an unknown assailant on his way to school on Friday morning, March 8. He was left for dead.

The attack took place opposite Vaal Mall. Two good samaritans, Antoinette and Deon Heath who happened to be driving past the scene at the corner of Faraday Boulevard and Barrage Road, stopped to help the boy.

“We don’t usually drive that way. We were scared at first, but turned around and went to help him. He walked into the road to try to get help.

The people drove around him. His shirt was full of blood.

“When he lifted his shirt, there was only blood. We loaded him in the car and took him to his house.

His mother was at home,” says Antionette.

According to the victim’s mother, who requested that she and her son remain anonymous, he was stabbed in the stomach, lung, heart and back, among other areas.

“After the people brought him home, Rescom called the ambulance after which he was taken to hospital and underwent emergency surgery,” said his mother. The motive for the attack is unknown. The mother confirmed that her son does not want to file a case.
