Sebokeng College alma mater reunion

"It is something that is not to end only in the Vaal but to start here at Vaal."

SEBOKENG. – All roads will be leading to Maccauvlei Golf Club on the banks of Vaal River, just outside Vereeniging on March 2.

This will be for the reunion of the former Sebokeng College students’ reunion, Class of 1985-1995.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, one of the Organisers, Tsholo Mokhachane said that the reunion is something that will take place yearly and beyond as it is something that will include helping local children academically and even securing jobs for them.

Amongst the programs that the group has discussed is an information portal where local children in the Vaal can find information via a link on issues such as:

  • In-Service Training
  • Internship
  • Apprenticeship
  • Learnership
  • Bursaries
  • Scholarship
  • Volunteering

“We aim to engage the assistance of legal practitioners to help us draft an NGO to reach our goal. It is something that is not to end only in the Vaal but to start here at Vaal,” said Mokhachane.

The reunion was initiated by Lazzy Mphasane who is now a prominent businessman who also was a student at the Sebokeng College. The organisers aim to invite amongst others Education Chief Director, “Victor Thetha, Mr Molefi Olifant, Mosotho Petlane, and other prominent local people.
