Meet VUT FM’s ‘Just-Ice’

"When I was a student at Shandu Secondary School my teacher by then taught me how to speak and write proper Sesotho."

SHARPEVILLE. – Growing up in a family that listens to the radio inspired Tshediso “Just-Ice” Moremoholo (35) to become a radio sports presenter.

Initially, he wanted to be a doctor, teacher, or pilot but he ended up in the media space, studying Journalism. Moremoholo is the host of the VUT FM Sports Agenda on Friday from 17:00 – 18:00.

In an exclusive interview with Sedibeng Ster, Moremoholo, popularly known as ‘Just-Ice’ behind the mic said people like Thabo Kofa, Morena Tsholo, Chomane Chomane, Robert Marawa, and Thomas Mlambo are some of the people that inspired him to become a sports presenter.

“I started to develop a love for radio when I was young because every morning my parents would listen to the radio. When I was a student at Shandu Secondary School I was very interested in the Sesotho language because my teacher by then, Mrs Sepetla, taught me how to speak and write proper Sesotho.”

She made me proud of my language, and listening to bo Ntate Chomane and Thabo Kofa on the radio also helped me a lot. These people played a significant role in shaping my passion for sports presenting commentary.

“My show is all about the development of sports in Sedibeng. The youngsters when they hear their names or their friends’ names on air, they become motivated. I want to uplift the youth of Vaal and I also want to see our local teams going to the next level,” said Moremoholo.

Moremoholo said he started to work at Lekoa FM before he joined VUT FM in 2018 and as they say the rest is history. Moremoholo said he wants to be Robert Marawa of this world and to establish himself as one of the best sports presenters.

For now, Moremoholo said his focus is to gain more knowledge as far as sports presenting is concerned.
