DJ Lee has love for music

TSHEPISO.- Leetoane Oliphant (43) is a female DJ on a mission to make a difference through music.
Despite working as a full-time receptionist at the local optometrist, DJ Lee, as she is affectionately known by her stage name, is a busy woman who entertains music lovers and party animals at clubs and events through music.
In an exclusive interview with Sedibeng Ster, Oliphant said her love for music inspired her to become a DJ. She said that it is not about money but enjoying seeing people happy, and dancing when she plays music.
“It is not a job or making money for me but this is what I like most to see people happy because as they say, music is the food of the soul. In this industry, it is not about money but doing what we love as DJs to entertain people. It is not easy being a female DJ but the respect that I get from the people that I play for is humbling, to say the least. They appreciate me and this serves as motivation to me to look forward to playing for them every weekend,” said Oliphant.
Some of the notable names she once shared the stage with include Sentle Lehoko, Tbos, DJ Young, DJ Mbabo Johanson, and DJ Paul Mtirara to mention but a few.
