Vaal Marina SAPS engages different stakeholders

"There are new ways to engage the community so that we can work together."

VAAL MARINA.- The Vaal Marina South Africa Police Services (SAPS) members, the Vaal Marina SAPS’ Social Crime Coordinator, Constabel Tshilidzi De Huis, Agape Lerato Community Services Auxiliary Social Worker, Somikazi Msungubali, and the SAVF (Suid Afrikaanse Vrouwe Federasie) convened a stakeholders engagement session in Vaal Marina on Wednesday.

The session was held to discuss the services that they render at the Vaal Marina police precinct, the challenges that they encounter as stakeholders, and how to overcome them.

“There are new ways to engage the community so that we can work together. With the session, we also wanted to see how best we can assist the community. the community pays nothing to get services at the station which is helpful as most of them are unemployed,” De Huis said.

De Huis said that one of the challenges that are faced by the Vaal Marina community is transportation to get other services such as SASSA offices, the Magistrates Court, and Home Affairs as these services are about +_50 km away from them.
