BOSA sees an opportunity in Ward 16

The community of Ward 16, must harness the opportunity presented before them and become their own liberators.

VEREENIGING. – Following the death of African National Congress (ANC) Ward 16 Councillor, Madoda ‘Tata’ Mkhumbeni in November last year, Build One South Africa (BOSA) Sedibeng has said that it is standing ready to claim victory in Ward 16.

Ward 16 encompasses Rus-ter-Vaal, Waldrift, and Arconpark and it will soon be holding a By-election following Mkhumbeni’s death, BOSA sees itself claiming victory. Mkhumbeni died following a short illness while he was the Councillor in Ward 16. He had reportedly worked tirelessly to unseat a Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Councillor who was leading it before him.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, BOSA Sedibeng Chairperson, Botiki Nkopane said that this is an opportunity for his party to prove its mettle. He urges the eligible voters, especially the young generations of this country and region to go out and register to vote.

BOSA Sedibeng Chairperson, Botiki Nkopane.

“Build One South Africa wishes to announce that as of 28 January 2024 after our Manifesto Launch in Sedibeng / Emfuleni Region, we have the opportunity to save our beautiful historical region from total collapse under the current failing administration led by vultures all in the name of corruption.”

Nkopane further said that the “alarming situation” in the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) will never change unless people take a stand.

“The collapse of political will and economic inclusion has left a void in the vast majority of families and has robbed the poor family of their dignity by being subjected to fail to provide for their children, all under the watch of the ‘GLU’ coalition representatives from participating political parties.  The community of Ward 16, must harness the opportunity presented before them and become their own liberators and must not wait for any ‘Messiah’ but they should own the ballot power.”

Nkopane ended by saying that the ELM has fallen to a point where credible secession has become the talk in some corridors and that the Municipal Manager (MM) and the MEC have failed to declare a vacancy in Ward 16 since last year December to Date. According to regulations, the By-elections must be held within 90 days.

ELM’s Makhosonke Sangweni said that the allegations are baseless and that the process of filling the vacancy is underway and in compliance with the legislated period of 90 days.
