Vaal Juventus FC beats Mmabatho FC in Regional Hollywood match

"This is the culture we created here at Juventus, not be scared to play from the back even if our opponents press us high."

EVATON.- Vaal Juventus FC had to sweat before they beat Mambatho FC 4-3 in the Safa Sedibeng Regional Hollywood League match at Qedilizwe on Saturday.

Just like a game that was played earlier on the day between Sekhukhune United and Swallows, it was goal after goal. Mmabatho FC was the first to score the opening goal through an own goal after Juventus’ defender tried to defend Tshepo Gumede’s shot on goal.

It was an entertaining game with two teams with a similar style of play.

It was a game of errors that resulted in goals with Mmabatho’s goalkeeper the culprit with poor decision and Juventus capitalised on his mistake. Coaches from both benches were frustrated at one stage of the game.

Juventus Head Coach, Isaac Mphasane was not happy with his defenders who kept losing ball possession on their half while his counterparts on the opposite bench were frustrated by his winger for not providing crosses on time. When everyone thought the game would end 3-3, Juventus grabbed a late equaliser much delighted by their bench and supporters on the stand.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster after the game, Mphasane said they are a team that likes to play from the back.

“Look, every team we play against knows that we play from the back and they try to apply high pressure but we don’t panic because we have been practicing this at training,” said Mphasane.
