Hijacked Polo recovered near stream

"He was then told to get into the passengers side of the vehicle after being hit with an unknown object."

EVATON.- The Evaton Police are investigating a case of car-hijacking after a man was hijacked in Sebokeng Zone 7, Sebokeng in the early hours of Sunday.

It is said that the driver of a silver VW Polo was driving from Zone 7 at around 00:30 and he stopped his vehicle to urinate on the side of the road when two, Sotho speaking men between the ages of 30, accosted him and started swearing at him.

He was then told to get into the passenger side of the vehicle after being hit by an unknown object. One man got into the driver’s side and drove the car while another man sat in the back seat.

Police spokesperson, Constable, Thulisile Msibi said that the vehicle was then driven to the Evaton cemetery and the two suspects demanded that the owner should get out of the vehicle while using force to push him out.

“He was also assaulted on the face and neck. The suspects drove off with the vehicle leaving the complainant behind. He then went to Evaton Police Station to open a case,” Msibi said.

The vehicle was later recovered near a stream in Zone 3, Sebokeng on Sunday.
