MIDVAAL. – The Matric Class of 2023 at Curro Academy Savanna City High School has achieved an outstanding 100% pass rate in the 2023 NSC examinations, surpassing expectations and setting a remarkable milestone as the first-ever Grade 12 class to graduate from the school.

The joyous atmosphere at the school was palpable as students, parents, educators, and the community came together to celebrate this exceptional achievement. Lakidu Ngunda, Curro’s Executive Head, expressed that the success was the result of a collective effort, with everyone playing their part and fulfilling their responsibilities to the best of their ability.

In an interview with Sedibeng Ster, Ngunda likened the school’s approach to a well-coordinated pit stop in a racing car scenario, where each member knows their role to ensure the vehicle can continue racing in excellent condition.

He highlighted the sacrifices made by both students and educators to achieve the 100% pass rate.

While emphasising Curro’s commitment to academic excellence, Ngunda also highlighted the school’s dedication to nurturing the talents of students passionate about sports, arts, and culture. He described Curro as a well-rounded institution providing a conducive environment for students to realise their dreams and reach their full potential.

Addressing misconceptions about the school’s fee structure, Ngunda clarified that the fees are not as exorbitant as perceived, especially considering that matric learners write NSC examinations, which are government-owned.

He invited parents to explore the school and take advantage of the opportunity for private education at affordable prices.

Wishing the Matric Class of 2023 success in their future endeavours, Ngunda commended the class for achieving a total of 25 distinctions and setting a high standard for the upcoming Matric Class of 2024.
