Evaton Post Office robbed

Four armed African men stormed Evaton Post Office on Monday during a brazen robbery and fled with undisclosed amount of money.

EVATON – The Evaton Post Office was robbed in broad daylight on Monday, November 6.

Four armed robbers stormed the premises at Mafatsane government precinct where they robbed the facility an undisclosed amount of money.

Following the robbery, the robbers evaded the scene of the crime using two vehicles.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Police spokesperson Captain Teboho Lephoto said the police can confirm the incident and case of Business robbery was opened at Evaton SAPS.

“It’s alleged that four 4 African males armed with pistols entered the post office and robbed all the tellers at gunpoint. Several shots were heard going off inside but no injuries were reported,” he said.

“Suspects managed to flee with an undisclosed amount of money and sped off with a Silver Grey Ford Ranger and a Silver Toyota Grey in colour with no registration numbers,” he added.

Lephoto said police would like to appeal to anyone who might have seen the incident nor identified the suspects, to come forward. Any information available regarding the incident may be directed to Evaton Police or call 08600 10111.
