VANDERBIJLPARK – Sedibeng Ster is thrilled to announce the winners of this year’s much-anticipated mother and daughter women’s month competition.
Nqobile Mabaso (25) and Thabisile Sirala (46) have emerged victorious in a contest that has captured the hearts of our readers throughout the region.
The competition, centered around a captivating photo and a thought-provoking caption, encouraged participants to share their unique stories of love and connection.
With a shared journey that beautifully embodied the theme of the competition, Mabaso and Sirala effortlessly captured the essence of their relationship receiving admiration and support from dedicated readers.
Following the conclusion of the competition, the paper proudly awarded the deserving duo with their well-earned prizes at our officers in Vanderbijlpark on Tuesday, August 22.
Speaking to the visibly happy duo from Evaton, Mabasa explained why she decided to enroll in the competition.
“I saw the competition on Facebook from Sedibeng Ster and decided to enter as a way to show appreciation to my mother. My mother is a hardworking woman who hardly rests. She hardly does anything for herself, rather than put others first,” she said.
The expectation of winning the competition kept the couple up at night.
“We didn’t know what to expect because we weren’t kept updated on the votes. We remained hopeful that we going to win. We prayed about it and God did it for us,” she said.
Explaining their relationship, Sirala said she takes her daughter as her bestie.
“Our relationship is very tight. We literally share everything and for that reason, I think she is turning out as I want. We are very delighted about winning this competition. We kept faith because many people believed in us. Even when we asked for votes, we were told that we already won in their hearts,” she said.
