High-Density operation carried out in Fezile Dabi District

The objective of the operation is to create awareness of truck hijackings that have caused a stir around the district to truck drivers and motorists.

VILLIERS – The Deputy District Commissioner of Fezile Dabi, Brigadier Mapulane Mbeloane led a high-density Operation and Roadblock on the N3, Villiers.

The operation was joined in by external stakeholders including the Department of Home Affairs, Provincial Traffic, N3 Road Incident Management Service, and Community Patrollers.

The operation followed the DCCF meeting at Villiers with the purpose to introduce and welcome new Constables who have been placed at Villiers Highway Patrol.

The objective of the operation is to create awareness of truck hijackings that have caused a stir around the district to truck drivers and motorists.

Police spokesperson Captain Loraine Earle says: “During the operation, three persons were arrested for contravening the Immigration Act, two were arrested for being in possession of drugs, nine traffic fines were issued and one fine for illegal cigarettes.

“Police vehicles were stopped and searched, Patrollers were issuing pamphlets on truck hijackings, drugs, and general crime tips to motorists,” she said.

Deputy District Commissioner Brigadier Mapulane Mbeloane expressed gratitude for the teamwork and commitment shown by the Management.

“It is vital that we lead the way so that the new Constables can know exactly what is expected from them. Let us work together and ensure that trust is regained and hope instilled in the community members we serve by the work done by us, men and women in blue.“
