Load-shedding break-ins in Sebokeng on the rise

"Ahead of the 2024 national and provincial elections next year, voters also need to be very clear about which political party has worked the hardest to protect South Africans from load-shedding," Cllr Dady Mollo.

Cllr Dady Mollo,  Emfuleni Central Constituency Political Head writes:

The dangerous consequences of load shedding, which is currently a daily occurrence in this area, is more than just a major inconvenience – it’s a crime risk too, and has resulted in an increase in home break-ins and vehicle theft. This vulnerability provides criminals with opportunities to carry out their activities undetected.

Load-shedding has made it impossible to arm home security systems.

When the lights go out, so do the alarm systems, gate motors and civilian cameras.

House breaking incidents and theft has increased in Sebokeng and surrounding areas that has brought pains and fear to many families who have lost their belongings.

I wonder, how criminals justify to themselves that, what they are doing is okay? What goes on in their minds while they are committing crime? How do they sleep at night or look at themselves in the mirror?

The loadshedding is the biggest crisis South Africa has faced in the history of democracy and the blame for it, lies fairly and squarely on the ANC.

Ahead of the 2024 national and provincial elections next year, voters also need to be very clear about which political party has worked hardest to protect South Africans from load-shedding.

Where the DA governs, we have done everything possible to protect residents from load shedding.

Only the DA is big enough to beat the ANC; keep the EFF out; and turn around this area and the municipality to end corruption, bring capable governance, and create places of opportunity and security.

It’s time to hit the reset button, to secure your future, register and vote DA!
