Melodictee on her way to stardom as she bagged Idols golden ticket

Nkosazana 'Songstress Melodictee' Mazibuko has begged a golden ticket to theatre week on Idols South Africa.

SEDIBENG – The dream of becoming a well-known songstress lives on for Nokuthula Mazibuko.

Popularly known as Nkosazana Melodictee, the 30-year-old from Orange Farm believe getting the golden ticket on Idols SA will open more doors for her.

This is after the songstress with a melodic voice made it through to the singing competition’s theatre week after she earned an impressive three yeses from the judges.

Holding her golden ticket, which she regards as her pass to taking her talent to greater heights, Nokuthula was all smiles and gladly told the story of her musical journey.

The future looks bright for the mother of one her flight to stardom takes off.

“I am originally from Orange Farm. I am a mother, sister, and firstborn daughter to a single mom. Following my primary and high school education, I studied acting for television and theatre at City varsity and studied media studies majoring in radio presenting at Boston Media House,” she said.

For Nokuthula, her journey into the world of music has been a long and difficult one, which dates back all the way back to her childhood.

“My music journey started when I joined a girl’s group at the age of 13, where a well-known producer from Orange Farm (Melusi Msimango) who also worked with the likes of Winnie Khumalo, Rethabile Khumalo, and the late Mshoza to mention a few, took us in and recorded our first ever track which gave us the opportunity to open up for the likes of Swatta Camp & Zulu mob,” she said.

Sharing her Idols story, Nokuthula said it’s her second time trying her luck on the show.

“I ventured into idols because I need a bigger, greater, and more well-known platform to launch my career and get it to where I want it to be. It’s not my first time auditioning for idols, I did in 2016 but didn’t make it far,” she added.

Nokuthula said her confidence in music and her voice is at its highest peak and gives hope to making it big.

“I auditioned with high faith that I’m going to get the Golden ticket, getting it was a dream come true and a validation that I am what I think I am, and that I’m on the right path at the right time. Mzansi can expect unapologetic, raw, different, rare yet people-healing talent that storytelling, comes with Soul, class, authenticity, realness, and exclusive heartwarming talent ready to bless and heal the world,” she said.
