SHARPEVILLE.- Local basketball teams will battle it out at the Itsose Primary School basketball courts today, on Saturday.
The age groups that will be competing against each other include the u/14, u/16, and u/18. The following teams are going to compete against each other Sharpeville Trojans, Boipatong Nets, Steel-Park Phantoms, SSF, Sebokeng Knight Heats, Evaton Infundo Middle School, Sebokeng Bravers, Parys Panthers and Tshepiso Stars.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport the league Coordinator, Oupa Tshabalala said they expect fireworks. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the league takes place every weekend and they rotate the venues.
“We take our league games to the different venues within Sedibeng as part of reviving basketball in other areas where basketball is not active. We urge the community to come in numbers to support their kids playing,’” he said.
