JJ Sporting who operates the Football Clinic at Dick Fourie Stadium in Vereeniging, is asking for assistance from the Vaal Community to please help make the dream of 27 teenage boys from the club, to participate in the Friendship Cup in Cape Town, a reality. The event takes place later in June.

This amazing opportunity to participate in the Friendship Cup has come across their path and it is a great opportunity for promising young players to get noticed by the PSL and Scouts.

Over the last couple of weeks, the teams under the leadership of JJ Sporting have launched various fundraising initiatives and through their efforts, they have already managed to secure the funds and sponsorships for their food and accommodation in Cape Town for the duration of their 10 day stay, as well as Team Uniforms… but unfortunately they are currently still about R24 000 short to cover the cost of their return transport and time is running out.

For this reason, they are appealing to local businesses or anyone who can help, to please assist. Any donation to help them reach their goal will be most welcome.

Tyrone Koller and his team at JJ Sporting started the Football Clinic in Sasolburg and Vereeniging with the vision of giving promising young Football players the opportunity to develop their skills within the sport and to also provide support in mindset development which is beneficial for their futures – both as Football Players and more importantly, as men and future leaders.

The clinic starts with kids as young as 5 years in the Mini Football teams and works with young players up to the age of 21 years. The values that are imprinted in the players through the clinic is discipline, dedication, respect and commitment.

This tour to Cape Town will take the boys out of their regular environment and circumstances and give them the opportunity to experience what it feels like to be “professional” football players; what it takes and what they need to do as players to improve and develop themselves further. Participating in the Friendship Cup in Cape Town will be a dream come true for all these boys.

Football is a game changer and as a sport it can change even those lives that we thought were unchangeable.
