Nyandeni’s story of entrepreneurship

This is in an effort to recognise the township business owners who are on their way to reaching their goals and support their everyday hustle.

SEDIBENG.- Coffee remains a favourite among most coffee lovers such as Lebohang Nyandeni, the founder of LebzCafé who would even say it makes the world go ‘round.

His love for coffee was sparked by his grandmother while growing up in Evaton. Willing to risk it all, Nyandeni purchased brewing equipment and opened a coffee shop using the last of his savings. Nyandeni found a supplier in Cape Town and learned about the roasting process, which helped him uncover a niche in the market.

Nyandeni’s unique blend of Robusta and Arabica beans produces an easy-to-drink coffee that he describes as tasting like love. It is available at Pick n Pay Ola’s Market, and on Takealot.

Nyandeni was recently named a top 12 finalist in the I Amstel Entrepreneur Competition. This competition celebrates township-based entrepreneurs, and each contestant receives R50 000 in marketing support and mentorship from an established marketing expert. Khaya Dlanga mentors Nyandeni and was recently named a Gauteng Man of Valour by Trade Route City, he is a reigning Sunday World Unsung Hero and hopes to inspire others to chase their dreams.
