Victory ensures that Midvaal stays Blue

Yesterday’s Visit to Midvaal Local Municipality saw mixed emotions all around as people lined up to cast their vote in the 2016 Municipal Elections.

Yesterday’s Visit to Midvaal Local Municipality saw mixed emotions all around as people lined up to cast their vote in the 2016 Municipal Elections.

Although Violent protests have rocked the municipality in the month leading up to the election, It seems that the Democratic Alliance’s support from voters remained unshaken. The DA won 11 out of 15 wards in yesterday’s election, increasing their majority.

An ecstatic Bongani Baloyi, who will be running as Mayor for the second term says, “We are of course extremely happy with this result – we said we will increase our majority, and we have done so, which is proof that our people trust us.

 

“Residents of Midvaal can expect a continuation of the excellent service delivery which they are used to, and we will resume our hard work to make progress in areas of our municipality where more development is required.  The next 5 years are going to be extremely exciting as we move Midvaal forward to claim its rightful place as the best municipality in Gauteng!”
