Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Economic Freedom Fighters Regional Command Team Member Gift Moleko said they fighting for the people’s right to education.

“We cannot let lecturers and management fraudulently register their relatives and loved ones while qualifying individuals wait for their acceptance. We have a member of management who blatantly confessed registering loved ones in an improper manner. If we sit back, many will continue to wait in queues from the online systems while dozens are being registered physically”.

“We will be camping outside the institution until these desperate parents gathered here with their children are allowed to register physically as well,” said Moleko.

Sasco Chairman in Sedibeng College Vanderbijlpark Campus Nhlanhla Radebe said “we are faced with challenges that exclude students from entering the systems. We have a rigged system in this campus, where management is doing corrupt things to ensure their loved ones enroll in this campus whereas we qualifying prospectus student but can’t be absorbed by the institution”.

“We are fully aware that matric results were issued last week but according to the corrupt administrators and lectures but they have closed applications. How can that be possible,” asked Radebe.

“We are going to make sure that all students will be registered. We want a fair and manual process,” he said.

Ntebaleng Mofokeng said “I tried to register online and I can’t seem to get the feedback I am expecting, hence I decided to come and check. When I got here, I was turned away because we are told we not allowed to register physically. I qualify for the course I want to study, but can’t get space”.

At the time of publishing this story, Sedcol management had not responded to media inquires sent by the paper to the college.

This is a developing story.
